Earlier in February, Coinbase, the main US-based cryptocurrency trade, introduced the acquisition of blockchain surveillance startup Neutrino.
The transfer triggered a large outburst of the cryptocurrency group as a result of Neutrino’s CEO, Giancarlo Russo, beforehand labored as a COO of Hacking Crew, an Italian-based venue with a questionable (to say the least) popularity. The Hacking Crew has reportedly offered industrial hacking software program to the police, enabling them to hold out an enormous variety of surveillance actions.
Quickly after that, Coinbase’s Director of Institutional Gross sales, Christine Sandler, admitted that the members of the cryptocurrency trade offered consumer information to an ‘outside source’ — including much more gasoline to the fireplace.

…we don’t accumulate any personally identifiable data from exchanges. Chainalysis solely is aware of {that a} explicit tackle belongs to a buyer at that trade, not who the client is.
Whereas not explicitly said, Chainalysis’ assertion does look quite a bit like a direct response to Coinbase’s Sandler, who mentioned that their third-party service suppliers had been promoting consumer information to ‘outside sources.’
